We always love to find out more about what the Megways™ mechanic means to each individual provider that acquires the license. Today we got the chance to have a chat with Pragmatic Play, and to see how they have used the popular gaming engine to enhance their impressive collection of slots even further. Check out our interview with them below.

Q. So, we love to focus on all things Megaways™ and was delighted when we saw that you had acquired the licence earlier in the year. Had this always been a long term plan to develop Megaways™ slots since the arrival of the mechanic, or having seen the continued success that it’s brought fellow gaming studios, was it just a case of feeling that the time was now right as a company to create your own games within the niche?

A. The mechanic is one that has undoubtedly proved a big success, adding a unique, exciting element to slot titles. We felt that we had the potential to take the mechanic and add a new dynamic to our own portfolio, and have been very willing to put the hours into its integration to create new, thrilling titles. So far these have been received very well by our operator partners and we can’t wait to continue producing them. 

Q. What does the team at Pragmatic Play believe makes a top Megaways™ slot when it comes to getting players to engage with the product?

A. There are several approaches to this. We’ve used the mechanic to reimagine some of our most popular slots, giving players a recognisable experience, while having that extra enjoyment that comes with playing a new title. We have also used it to take players into a completely new direction, utilising large paylines and cascading wins to keep players enthralled with every spin while creating new landscapes for them to explore.

Q. Pragmatic Play slots are instantly recognisable for most players, the smoothness of the gameplay and attention to detail with graphics and design is something that we always really enjoy about your games. Typically when it has been decided to produce a new title, how long does it take your team to develop and bring to market games with this kind of quality?

A. Our roadmap is quite aggressive, as we launch four games per month, and there are plans in place to expand this even more. While it is a lot, we manage to continually develop games of very high quality for all demographics, keeping our content varied so fans of our products all over the globe can enjoy them. The entire team works very hard to maintain our product range and its something we as a company are very proud of as we create igaming experiences for everyone.  

Q. You’ve managed to get a good amount of Megaways™ slots to market in the amount of time that you’ve had the licence. Is this something that players can expect to see continuing into the future? Or will you be concentrating more on other products within your impressive range?

A. Player can expect to see a lot more across all areas. Our Megaways™ portfolio will be expanded, as will our games in partnership with Reel Kingdom. Equally, the attention we put onto our slot portfolio and other verticals won’t waver. We have some very exciting Live Casino products in the pipeline, while our upcoming slot portfolio offers content for players of all tastes. We’ll also launch our new Virtual Sports vertical that will debut with two games, more following later. 

Q. We have to say that so far we’ve been impressed with the games that you’ve added to the Megaways™ market, with our favourite currently being The Dog House Megaways™. Out of all of your releases to date, which of the games has brought you the most accolades from casinos and players alike?

A. Our best performing title, Wolf Gold, has seen us achieve an impressive array of accolades, while Sweet Bonanza and The Dog House Megaways™ have established themselves as top performers in our portfolio. Certain demographics lean towards other titles, but our Gold and John Hunter series have both been a staple that has elevated our offering. 

Q. To bring the Q & A to a close, is there anything that you can tell us about future Megaways™ releases that you have planned?

A. We definitely have plans in place for more Megaways™ titles, but that’s all we can say for now. It has been a thrilling addition to the Pragmatic Play slot catalogue, and we’re excited to showcase more exciting games in the near future.
